I recently beat the game on Hero Mode. Getting the Hylian Shield in Lanayru's challenge is hard. I got my but kicked so many times. You cannot get any hearts during the challenge, of course, so it is a real pain.

A good tip Noble, is to drink a Stamina Potion+ and a Guardian Potion+ and carry a Potion Medal. Drink them right before you talk to the Thunder Dragon and then choose to fight your hardest boss first.

Would the Potion Medal have any effect during the fights? He takes all the medals. Regardless, that it a very good idea.

I've been avoiding this thread like the plague until recently. But since I have beaten the game now I suppose I can chat about it.

I'm in the middle of Hero Mode right now. I'm about to make my first visit to the Isle of Songs. Soooo much relief when I got that Heart Medal. That should make things a little less nerve-wracking.

As for my favorite parts of the game; my favorite dungeon is the Ancient Cistern, which seems to be the same for most of you guys too I take it. That dungeon's boss, Koloktos, is also my favorite boss. It's so satisfying to cut off it's arms and legs with it's own weapons.

My favorite scene in the game is when Groose follows Link to the surface. Groose's reactions to the environment and especially the Goron were hilarious. Groose is an awesome character, even if he looks a little weird. However, he's not my favorite character. No, that honor goes to Scrapper. Link gets a helper robot? Yes, please! The robot has a crush on Fi? Adorable! He acts like a total douche to Link? Hilarious! I can't help but smile every time I hear Scrapper's theme music.

Also, when I first saw Demise's true form, the first thing I thought was "Black Blanka". It was difficult to take him seriously after that...until the actual fight that is. Not gonna say it was awesome, because honestly it's too similar to the final Ganondorf fight in Twilight Princess. I didn't know about the lightning thing but basically all I did was shield bash, attack, shield bash, attack, rinse, repeat. Ghirahim's last fight was more challenging. Fighting Demise was still pretty cool though.

Speaking of Ghirahim, what's all this about the second Ghirahim fight giving you guys trouble? I found that it was pretty much identical to the first fight just with a couple of added complications, but I didn't find it difficult. I had more trouble with Tentalus. I didn't know you could launch your Skyward Strikes sideways...

Sorry for the long post, just trying to get caught up.

About the Ancient Cistern...Is it just me, or does it remind you guys a lot of the Tsuta Ruins in Okami? The two dungeons had many things in common.

Yeah, I can see the resemblance. They both have a lot of water and plant life.

I had no trouble at all hitting Ghirahim the first time around but tons of problems the second time.

Both have a big statue in the middle that you much reach the top of to fight the boss. The whip kind of reminds me of the vine ability, especially with how they are used at the top of said statues. There is a focus on the use of lily pads as platforms. There is some purple, mucky water. The dungeon itself was definitely unique, but it did remind me a lot of Okami. I liked it.

The strategy he uses is very similar the second time, with more pointy red things and two swords. If you hold your sword off to one direction for a moment, he will focus on that point. You can spin attack from the direction he is not watching and then slash away. The second time you fight him, you just have to watch for his pointy red things. After he arms himself with swords, the battles are pretty straightforward.

Not reading any of the replies here yet. Just wanted to say that I'm in the dungeon after the escort mission. For some reason it annoyed me much, much more than the one in Twilight Princess.

By "escort mission" do you mean the one with Scrapper? Were there any others? I don't remember.

Almost done with the game. Kind of sad since I'm sure it'll be a long wait for the next console Zelda.

I'm not loving the last dungeon. I don't know, it just feels boring. And those jigsaw puzzles are driving me crazy at this point.

B-but the last dungeon, IMO, is the culmination of all the past dungeons. You get to use all your items and the puzzles are really great.
