Third parties should make Wii lead platform according to N’Gai Croal

The Wii has, generally speaking, not been the lead platform when it comes to developing most games. More often than not, Wii games are ported from a PS2 version or are worked on by not as important teams. Well, according to N’Gai Croal, companies should begin to change their ways and make the Wii as the lead platform.

“So with Nintendo as top dog, I think it’s time for publishers to throw it a much bigger bone by leading development on Wii, then up-porting the games to the more powerful systems, which should result in a larger addressable audience.” – N’Gai Croal

I feel that such a suggestion is probably unrealistic at this point. It seems as though sales numbers are mostly dominated by first-party software and only a few-select third-party titles do well.
