Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles details

Some of the first details regarding Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles have been released thanks to the latest edition of Famitsu.
– Sequel to Umbrella Chronicles
– Takes place in Racoon City (RE2)
– Set in September 29, 1998 – city turned to hell because of T-virus effects
– Control Claire Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy
– Deal with the undead in Umbrella Chronicles forced scrolling style
– Not called Umbrella Chronicles 2 because Umbrella Corporation is the not the enemy in this game
– “Darkside” can be considered that the game will look at unexplored areas in the RE story, darker parts of characters’ histories
– Will have more of a horror feel than the first game
– Scenarios from titles other than RE2 will be in Darkside Chronicles
– Variety of characters in the game – including Shelly Birkin from RE2
– Producers want people to know that even though the concept is similar to the first game, it will feel like a new game
– Will give the player a “feeling of being there” due to the camera, visual effects, can see partner character in front of you
– Havoc engine being used for realistic physics
– Replayability a focus in the game
– Dev. team trying to make the game accessible in terms of difficulty
– Skilled shooters shouldn’t worry because there are plans for a dynamic difficulty system
– In-game partner important
– Will only see your partner on screen during single player mode
– 35% complete
– No release date
