The Game Awards has thrown us a bunch of news, including a new teaser trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The film is still on track for an April 2026 release.

In this teaser we see Mario and Luigi Facing off against Benny Safdie’s Bowser Jr. Eagle eyed viewers have also pointed out that Luigi’s knee attack is very reminiscent of Captain Falcon’s knee smash in the Super Smash Bros. Series.

My Nintendo Metroid Prime 4 holographic poster set

If you’re looking to further celebrate the recent launch of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, you might be interested in a new reward that’s been made available on My Nintendo. Members can get their hands on a special holographic poster set.

The set includes two holographic foil posters. With the first, it’s lone hunter Samus Aran in her new look. The second poster has Samus atop the high-tech Vi-O-La motorcycle. The posters measure 11.75″ x 18″ each.

Do you remember the “Nindies” term that Nintendo used to bring up on a regular basis? It was very prominent in the Wii U / 3DS era, and even the very early Nintendo Switch days. You probably don’t need us to tell you what it was for, but essentially it was an easy way to label indie games on Nintendo platforms.

These days, “Nindies” is all but forgotten. So what happened to the name? During a recent podcast episode, former Nintendo of America employees Kit Ellis and Krysta Yang spoke about the situation.


A new physical reward just went live on My Nintendo, and this one is exclusive for Switch Online members. Starting today, subscribers can get their hands on a 2026 calendar.

The calendar features characters and artwork from retro titles such as Super Mario 64 , Metroid Fusion, F-Zero Maximum Velocity, and more. A stand is also included so that it can be displayed on a desk.

Bloomberg published a new report today delving into issues Yacht Club Games has faced in recent years, and also claims that the studio had been working on a 3D Shovel Knight which it still hopes to release at some point.

There’s a lot covered in the article, but Bloomberg says the company “is facing an existential struggle.” It notes that Yacht Club “has churned through most of its capital, forcing it to downsize and put a planned second project on hold so everyone can focus on Mina the Hollower.” Employees are burnt out and the game’s delay is further impacting finances.

Paramount is planning a “Sonic Universe Event Film”, it’s been announced. It already has a release date of December 22, 2028.

Details about the movie are scarce at this point. However, to clarify, the project is in the pipeline alongside Sonic the Hedgehog 4, which is slated for March 19, 2027.

Legend of Mana art book

A special Legend of Mana art book has been revealed, and pre-orders are now open.

Technically, the book isn’t new in the sense that it previously came to Japan. However, this is the very first time it’s being released in English. Square Enix is teaming up with Dark Horse to bring it over.

Nintendo Studios Singapore

Today, Nintendo announced that it has entered into a share transfer agreement with Bandai Namco Studios to acquire shares of Bandai Namco Studios Singapore. In doing so, the team will now be known as Nintendo Studios Singapore.

According to Nintendo, the move was done for strengthen its development structure. BNSS will become a subsidiary of Nintendo moving forward.


Yuji Horii, the creator of Dragon Quest, has spoken about the differences between his series and Final Fantasy.

Both IPs are juggernauts when it comes to the JRPG space. They’re now owned by Square Enix, but way back in the day, they were with separate companies. Square had Final Fantasy why Dragon Quest was with Enix.

We have some crossover Nintendo and PC news, as Steam is now supporting the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller and GameCube Controller.

The functionality has come about with the Steam Client Beta which released yesterday. Nintendo Switch 2 controllers now work when connected over USB on Windows. There’s also support for GameCube adapters in Wii U mode with rumble on Windows.
