Nintendo service rep: Disaster announced for North America

November 29th, 2008 Posted in News, Wii, Written by Valay

Numerous statements from Nintendo of America spokesman have echoed the same sentiment about the fate of Disaster: Day of Crisis in North America: Wait and see how the game performs in Europe. At this point, it’s no secret that the game has sold rather poorly, which would lead one to believe that the game has a small chance of coming stateside. Strangely though, an email from a Nintendo customer representative may indicate otherwise.

The actual response written by the Nintendo customer service representative was the following: “I’m pleased to report that Disaster: Day of Crisis has been announced for North America, but no release date yet.”

Strangely, there never has been a formal release announcement for Disaster in North America. The representative simply might have been misinformed about the game, but it is encouraging to know that Mr. Camden even knows that the game exists!

Could be a simple error though lucky for Wii owners if it is true – though it’ll probably sell just as badly as it did in Japan and Europe.

I hope it does come to North America. It was supposed to be a launch title and with all this wait it would be a disappointment if it didn’t come to NA. I think the Wii needs some more hardcore games and this won’t take away from it but only add a hardcore game to it.

I know it looks interesting enough for me to buy it. So if it comes I will be purchasing it.

Maybe if they actually market the game properly in America, and retail maybe at $40 bucks instead of $50, they game can do some damage here in the states, Nintendo release the game, and dump some money on “Hardcore” commercials and it will be succesful !!!!
