Licensing issues preventing DuckTales, TaleSpin, other Capcom titles on the VC
September 2nd, 2008 Posted in News, Wii, Written by ValayWondering if the Virtual Console will ever house classic Capcom titles such as DuckTales? Sadly, the chances are pretty slim. Capcom’s Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development Christian Svensson has given the news that licensing issues are preventing the releases of Capcom-developed games such as DuckTales, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck. “Licensing issues abound. I think you’d be hard pressed to see them show up, but you never know.”

If anyone can get these games on the VC it would be Nintendo. Capcom should just ask Nintendo to talk to Disney about the games, but I know its not that simple but why not give it a shot unless they have already did what I said.

WTF, Capcom can’t put old Disney games on the VC due to licensing issues (or possibly because Disney is still working with Square Enix on KH games), the last time I check they did ported the Super NES version of Aladdin for the GBA so there are no excuse for them not doing the same here for VC. You don’t just port an old game to a console and then make excuses not to port it again because many people want them. We didn’t want Aladdin for GBA yet we got it but now we want more Disney’s classics, yet they refuse. Just not smart on Capcom’s part, now the Lion King is another story.
