Rumor: PAL release date for Super Mario Galaxy 2

A few months ago, Shigeru Miyamoto said that Super Mario Galaxy 2 could have shipped to stores this year. However, Nintendo opted to release New Super Mario Bros. Wii instead. So while it’s a definite that Galaxy 2 will be released next year, it’s just a matter of when.

Well, if the latest rumor is to be believed, the game will be out in Europe in late August 2010. Shigeru Miyamoto told GameTrailers TV back in November that development was nearly finished, so would Nintendo really wait that long to launch the title?

    Since Super Mario Galaxy was released in all regions in November 2007 (but at different dates), if the PAL release date for Super Mario Galaxy 2 is true, then the Japanese and North American releases will also be in August. It may make sense as Nintendo has yet to show a playable demo of Galaxy 2 which may appear in next year’s E3.

    Dont forget my little gem that is Endless Ocean 2 and hopefully that Zengleive or whatever the hell its called game. Im guessing Metroid Other M will come out at the end of the year in holiday season but who knows. Nintendo’s tricky so i can see some games coming out of nowhere also.

    Knowing Nintendo, especially the fact that it’s a “Mario” title not to mention 3-D, it will probably come out November 2010 (3 years after the original). Metroid: Other M will probably come out August/September 2010 and new Zelda in 2011. Don’t get me wrong because I do wish SMG2 would come out earlier.

    They didn’t rush the first one, and it was flawless – I want SMG2 right this minute, but I want it polished and bug-free as well ;)

    I bought my original Wii just for SMG, then after getting 242 stars x 5, I sold it – the same WEEK that SMG2 was announced! I have bought a new one now, but it does not seem nearly as good. I updated the firmware, and the blue LED comes on all the time in standby?!

    Oh well, at least it doesn’t need to turn ON to eject a disk anymore :D

    Nintendo does have a reputation of delaying Mario games so don’t expect it until late this year (Holiday 2010).
