Denise Kaigler leaving Nintendo
November 20th, 2009 Posted in General Nintendo, News, Written by Valay“…It’s a fact of life that job and family often pull us in opposite directions. As regular readers of this feature know, this has proved particularly challenging for me, as I’ve spent the last two years commuting almost constantly between San Francisco, Seattle, New York and my home in New England. It has been a fantastic adventure, but the time has come where I need to choose one over the other … and I have to choose my family. So, as a result, this will be the final ‘Minute’ that I spend with you all, and my last day with Nintendo of America. During my time at Nintendo I have developed friendships with so many wonderful people, from my co-workers to people I have interacted with along the way, including reporters, bloggers and video game fans like all of you. Those memories simply can’t be replaced, and I will take them with me. What I leave behind is a great team that will continue to tell the story of Nintendo’s pipeline of wonderful products. There are hundreds of people I hope I will run across again – and trust that I will. So instead of considering this ‘game over,’ I look at my choice as really just finishing one level … and moving on to the next. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to answer your questions and talk so directly with Nintendo’s fans. For now, my ‘Minute’ is up.” – Denise Kaigler
Wow, I’m absolutely shocked by this news. It really came out of nowhere. And I admit, I’m a bit sad. I truly felt as though Denise Kaigler tried her best to relate to the interests of hardcore gamers.

Forgive my ignorance, but… who is she? I’ve never heard of her.

She was vice president of corporate affairs at Nintendo of America. You may have seen her at E3 this year on stage during the Mario Bros. Wii presentation.

Good luck to her. We’ll miss her and her “minute” with IGN.

THANK GOD!!!
Now if you’re smart Nintendo, get someone who actually knows video gaming (preferably a gamer) and business.

Well I hate to say it:
But sadly Denise will be missed to those who cared about her!
And those who hated & braged constantly on stinking IGN can go get a life; for bashing her… even if all she’s ever done was state simple & logical answers to their team!
Trust me when I also say; good for her for leaving Nintendo… yada yada yada… yes family is always important for leaving your future job!
Now what though; are you stupid fanboys going to bash Cammy next for wanting her to leave Nintendo too?! I say get a life still; these people at Nintendo work really hard you know! They have every right to do their job; providing a lot for Nintendo!

Never cared for her anyway, those “minute” questions thing with IGN were all just waste of everybody’s time.

I’m amazed at how discourteous some of you are, especially considering how much time Kaigler put in interacting with the fans. She gave genuine answers to our questions given the boundaries of what Nintendo would allow her to say, and I think she will be sorely missed. Good luck to her and her family in the future!

I’m with some of you other guys and hope they get a gamer or at least someone who knows how to hype crap up for big nintendo releases.

Why would anyone miss a non-Japanese Nintendo employee? All the creative geniuses are Japanese.
