How No More Heroes looks on the PS3/360
November 19th, 2009 Posted in News, Wii, Written by ValayFamitsu revealed earlier this week that the No More Heroes series will be heading to the PS3/360. As it turns out, the original game is being ported over and will be called No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise. While we won’t be covering it from this point on since it’s a PS3/360 title, you may be interested to see how the game appears on other systems – You can check out a few of the screenshots above.

Wii version rendered in HD with a slightly better lighting. That’s how it looks.

I hope it fails, just because Suda lied and turned his back on us. And if this fails they wont make the second one for the HD systems

Kyle, Suda didn’t lie! It was Marvelous idea to make the port and they are making it by themselves.

Personally I think the game is overrated and the figures show that the game was not a tremendous hit on the wii platform. With the game being released on other consoles it has a chance to expand it’s fanbase and either sink or swim.

TheOnlySpero, it wasn’t a huge hit, but it made profit, that’s why a sequel is being developed. In fact NMH is the best selling Suda’s game to date.

“The bonus, revealed on publisher Marvelous’s site, is two sets of “erotica portraits” of No More Heroes’ female cast by the original character designer and guest illustrators. The PS3 version of the game comes with the “Sexy Cherry” set, and the Xbox 360 version comes with the “Sweet Mango” set.”
Thats the only parts I’am going to check out^^.

Yeah, no significant improvements. It’ll sit on shelves just as much in Japan and if it comes west at all, it won’t sell nearly as well either. Marvelous is getting fidgety as of late about their Wii sales, despite their largely being solid for the niche titles they’ve been producing, Harvest Moon being their strongest property as usual. They’ve been pretty impatient about profitability and rather quick to start biting the audience they stand to actually profit on for not buying their games quickly enough.
Basically, it’s the usual “blame everybody but ourselves” response to disappointment, while Marvelous doesn’t market their games in Japan or the west. A serious problem Wii games have had in general, with most third parties making no effort to promote their games on the Wii while advertising HD releases. If Marvelous had developed their lineup this gen for the PS3 and 360, they wouldn’t be in business anymore by now. Very few Japanese games sell on either system, and niche ones like Marvelous makes don’t, simple as that. In this generation, it’s no less important than in the past to properly market your games, and when Marvelous’ niche Wii titles’ve been tracking well by standards set by past generations’ market leaders’ niche game sales.
If the Marvelous leadership’s smart, they’ll pay attention when these ports don’t sell well at all and start to question themselves. At this point, more than anything, Marvelous needs to step back and reevaluate their strategy on the Wii so far – in particular, their complete and utter lack of marketing. If your games don’t sell “well enough” in your eyes after they receive zero advertising, the first place you go is not to attacking the audience of the console you place it on – especially when you’re developing on the mass market console. As is, Marvelous is a small enough publisher that they can’t even afford to make the kind of multimillion dollar games the HD crowd demands and that audience ignores the kinds of games they make to begin with.

I don’t know. Most of the gameplay’s fun revolved around the Wiimote.
But as far as how it looks, it can’t be denied, it looks awesome.
