Aonuma says Zelda Wii to have different structure, hopes to surprise fans, may be at E3 2010

November 18th, 2009 Posted in News, Wii, Written by Valay

“It is something we used to talk about with Mr Miyamoto, and he and I agree that if we are following the same structure again and again, we might not be able to give long time Zelda fans a fresh surprise. So we have been trying something new in terms of the structure of the Wii version of the new Zelda game this time. I am really hopeful that people will be surprised with the changes we have implemented for this Wii version. I hope that we can show you something at the E3 show next year and it is something we are hopeful will be surprising.” – Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma

Well, this news may be just what the doctor ordered! I feel like many Zelda fans aren’t satisfied how the series never really changes, but Zelda Wii looks like it’ll be mixing things up a bit. I really can’t wait to see what the game looks like now!

    How long you think this game has till release? 1 year? (next xmas would be awesome) or 2 years? Would be nice if they showed it at e3 and released it the same year :P

    It would be great if they just showed a teaser at the VGA awards.

    I have a bad feeling about this.. Don’t they understand we don’t want changes?

    @Monello

    Are you saying you didnt like Majoras Mask? Im pretty sure when he says changes he means it isnt going to try to be Ocarina of Time like Twilight Princess and be more like a Majora’s Mask type game with new gameplay mechanics.

    Personaly im not happy with the development speed of this game. Nintendo is so clueless sometimes, dont they see that this new zelda game should have been here 3 years ago with 1:1 controls.
    Its great to hear there taking the series in a new direction… no seriously.
