No More Heroes series no longer Wii-exclusive
November 17th, 2009 Posted in News, Wii, Written by ValayFamitsu has an interesting piece of news besides Phoenix Wright WiiWare. According to the magazine, some sort of No More Heroes game is in development for the PS3/360. This means, of course, that the series will no longer be exclusive to Wii. It’s unclear, however, if the first game is being ported to the other consoles or if this is an original game.

I will not say that I am surprised or saddened over this, as I care very little over violent games like No More Heroes. I am indifferent of them on what platform they go to, how they score, or even how well they sell as these games do not appeal to my gaming tastes. I am more concerned over first/second-party games released on Nintendo’s systems than most third-party games.

Heh, guess Suda51 changed his mind.
Hopefully, this won’t stop Travis chances to be in SSB4.

From Famitsu scans posted elsewhere, it’s just a port of the first game, it looks exactly the same, and without the motion controls it’ll lose part of the fun.
That said, this is a bad call on both Suda and Marvelous’s parts. It was Suda’s first truly “big,” profitable game, and he’s done well in developing a lot of goodwill amongst his fanbase on Nintendo platforms. That’s where his fans are. It won’t sell any better on the HD consoles in Japan and there’s no confirmation of a western release at this point. If it comes west, it won’t sell as well on the other two as it did on the Wii. The port’s a waste of Marvelous and Grasshopper’s already limited funds – smaller developers and publishers don’t thrive on the HD consoles, let alone Japanese ones. So after celebrating his biggest success to date, this does come off as an insult to the Wii fans who made it such a milestone in Suda’s career, and from the business perspective, it’s just a bad call. Killer7 didn’t sell on the Gamecube beyond to a small, dedicated base. It didn’t sell at all on the PS2. That was an unnecessary and uncalled for port, and this is an even worse call.

Wow, talk about wasting time, I can’t see any difference(even though the scans are pretty small).

Suda has nothing to do with the port!!! It’s Marvelous work!

This is gonna suck… Again.
Wii games are built for the Wii. The end. Ports to and fro never work (with few exceptions).
