Hershel/Luke in Smash Bros. or Mario Kart “would certainly be a wonderful opportunity,” says Level-5 President
November 10th, 2009 Posted in General Nintendo, News, Written by ValayThis is what Level-5 President Akihiro Hino had to say in regards to seeing Hershel or Luke in a Smash Bros. or Mario Kart game…
“That would certainly be a wonderful opportunity!”
I’m not so sure about Mario Kart, but Professor Layton in Smash Bros. could be a neat appearance. And don’t forget about Travis from No More Heroes! Suda said a few months back that he’d be interested in seeing him in there.
Thanks to Robert for the news tip!

I do not like the idea of having third-party characters in a Mario Kart game, as I prefer that it only characters from the Mario universe by in it. Having characters from the Professor Layton series will seem unusual as Herchel Layton and Luke are not fighters, but puzzle solvers. Their fighting/defense moves need to confirm to their characters to fit with the Super Smash Bros. theme.

I wonder if Level-5 knows about that whole “Professor Layton in Smash Bros.”Twitter thing made by Nintendo that happened a while ago.
I’am not so hot on Professor Layton being in SSB4 as I prefer having original MegaMan,Slime and Travis instead(and Sonic and Snake,purly assuming they will stay unless Sega and Konami says otherwise).

@Thomas N
They aren’t fighters? That’s no problem. Neither is Peach, Zelda, the Ice Climbers, Olimar, ROB, etc.
If they are in, I hope they are a duo, but at the same time, I don’t care that much about Layton in SSB.
