Reggie excited for 2010, talks Metroid: Other M, Galaxy 2, Sin and Punishment 2
November 6th, 2009 Posted in News, Wii, Written by Valay2010 is looking like it could be the Wii’s strongest year in terms of first-party support. If all goes as planned, Nintendo’s three big guns – Mario, Metroid, and Zelda – will all ship to store shelves. Those who are anticipating Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M, Zelda Wii, and even Sin and Punishment 2 are all excited for 2010, including Reggie Fils-Aime.
“Absolutely (we’re excited about next year). And in terms of the three that we highlighted during E3, Sin and Punishment first off is going to be something that the Nintendo fan can get really excited about. Galaxy 2, what can you say? Mr. Miyamoto himself is very excited about it. He thinks it really adds even more to that great title. And then Other M. And that’s another franchise that personally I’ve got great memories of. Back to a side-scrolling Metroid title. So, all great.”

Only way I’ll be excited for 2010 is if Zelda Wii is announced at E3 & with actual information/trailer/better screenshots & pictures other than lame ol E309’s picture!
But also always excited for Mario Galaxy 2 & Metroid Other M!

Mario, Zelda and Metroid the Nintendo big three?
LOL….i have to disagree with that one. Pokemon is bigger than Metroid and Zelda put together and then quadrupled.
Which reminds me. Hey Reggie, when are Wii owners gonna get a proper Pokemon RPG??? Oh well…….at least Mario Galaxy 2 will be awesome.

David Macphail: True, Pokemon instead of Metroid is one of Nintendo’s three big-shots(1.Mario,2.Pokemon and 3.Zelda)but Metroid is still very close to being nearly just as best selling as those three so there is nothing wrong with Metroid being mentioned up there.

@ David – Pokemon is big, but there hasn’t even been a true Pokemon game for a Nintendo console since Pokemon XD (and that wasn’t even THAT close to the handheld games).
Before Galaxy came out, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 2, and Super Mario Galaxy were considered to be Nintendo’s original big three for the Wii.

Side-scrolling metroid??? So in that trailer the 0,5 seconds of side-scrolling action is what most of the game is going to be like? My dreams have come true! Finally a sequel for super metroid! I just hope Reggie has not misunderstood the trailer.

@ Valay – that’s my point. There hasn’t been a Pokemon RPG for a Nintendo home console since XD: Gale Of Darkness and there hasn’t been a proper Pokemon RPG for a Nintendo home console ever, i’m just wondering what Nintendo are thinking.
With the greater storage capacity they have to work with on the Wii i’d have thought that they’d be able to come up with an idea for a big Pokemon RPG that stays close to the formula of the DS games without being a complete duplicate.
Satoru Iwata is complaining about the Wii’s lack of AAA software and yet the best Nintendo have offered for their main franchise is Pokepark Wii: Pikachu’s Great Adventure??? I just don’t get it………
