Zelda team “preparing gorgeous graphics” for Zelda Wii
November 5th, 2009 Posted in News, Wii, Written by ValayThis quote comes from Shigeru Miyamoto at the Q&A session of Nintendo’s latest financial briefing. We posted this information a few days ago, but now it’s clearer and complete.
“…On developing the recent Zelda for DS, I found out that one of Zelda’s core appeals is its uniqueness. Of course we are preparing gorgeous graphics for the sake of users’ anticipation for a grand role-playing adventure. But what I believe is very important is the realistic, actual feeling players have experienced themselves; the feeling to have really been on an adventure, to have explored the unknown terrains, to have solved the puzzle through trial and errors, to have themselves grown through various experiences! In that sense, a personal sense of creativity is becoming important among us. We have assembled one of the most creative team for the recent Zelda for DS, and we want to be as creative as possible for upcoming Wii Zelda.

I’m hoping for the best looking game ever released on Wii.

I hope its a little more difficult than TP. I’ve played everything with the name Zelda attached to it and I found TP to be the easiest game yet. DOn’t get me wrong, I loved that game, but I didn’t die once. Not only did I not die, but I never even had to use a potion throughout the game. I know these games are not known for overwhelming difficulty but I can remember croaking in past installments. So give us some Challenge Shigeru!! (even if it is just some intense optional Battle dungeons).

…kinda don’t know how much gorgeus the graphics could be… Monster Hunter 3 Tri graphics are only possible because they divided the scenario in small parts, which passages between it requires Loading. Considering the graphical performance in 480p of MH3 (I already tested the Japanese Version, with component cables and all the video stuff configured), we could say that they couldn’t make a satisfatory Anti-aliasing and AF either, because of the lack of Graphical processing capacities of Wii. Since Zelda is a open World game (which is more heavy to process graphics), it’s difficult to know if the graphics could surpass all we’ve seen on Wii lately…

LOL, senile idiot.

Nintendo seems to have the ability to create graphics on Wii that are far superior to anybody else’s efforts. Mario Galaxy’s graphics are evidence of that. I have high hopes for the new Zelda’s graphics.

I hope for thier sake that Zelda Wii really will have the best looking Wii graphics yet and it better be far superior then Monster Hunter 3 because let’s face it, that game’s graphics isn’t really that impressive at all. A Wii’s graphics could look so much better(when it is pushed to its limits)then that.
Which is why I was a little let down at the time when Iwata said the Zelda team was working hard on the graphics after seeing Monster Hunter 3. I mean, seriously?

More important than the graphics, is the creativity. TP felt rather dead somehow. Hopefully this brings back more character development, like in Majora’s Mask. I’ll accept lots of character development(majoras mask) or no character development(a link to the past), but twilight princess was in a weird middle ground.
