Nintendo will launch the DSi LL in Europe, but it will be called Nintendo DSi XL
October 29th, 2009 Posted in DS, News, Written by Valay…And it will cost more!
“Nintendo today confirms that a new Nintendo DSi XL console is launching in Europe in the first
quarter of 2010. The retail price of the Nintendo DSi XL is expected to be higher than that of the Nintendo DSi. Further details will be released soon.” – Nintendo statement
I don’t see myself purchasing the DSi LL/XL. I’ve already invested in the original DS, DS Lite, and first iteration of the DSi. And since the XL doesn’t really offer anything new, it doesn’t seem worthwhile to me.

I’m now totally mad at Nintendo releasing this new model so soon! How would you FEEL if you just purchased DSi with hard earned money and this came out of no where and SO SOON?! My goodness Nintendo! Are you out of your freakin’ mind? So what’s next? SUPER XL within the same year? My NEW DSi is now what? an OLD model! I hope no one buys this thing! I hope this flops! I hope everyone sticks & be contented to what DS model they have… I find this model unnecessary & this strategy pointless…

I can see myself getting this and giving my current DSi to my daughter. This new XL DSi seems marketed strictly towards the older 25+ demographic. The DSi XL is the size or close to the size of those little mini laptops that are all the rage. I can see this selling pretty well with adults.

@real deal This new model isn’t about replacing the DSi. It is about creating something for those that didn’t buy the DSi because they either had bigger hands, or they have poor vision. Don’t forget that Nintendo is trying to make gaming all inclusive. This is simply a decision based on demographics and I applaud Nintendo for it. My mother might pick up a DSi now that they are releasing the DSi XL. She has a hard time seeing smaller screens, so this is great news!

will this make older ds titles look good on it , I mean the resolution , I didn’t try DSi so I don’t really know if it makes older game look nice and neat as it does to the older DS systems
