Retro Studios may return to the Metroid series in the future
August 27th, 2009 Posted in News, Wii, Written by ValayThis information comes from the Retro Studios video tour/developer interview which we posted yesterday…
“Of course I’m sad to see her go. But those things have a way of creeping back. I think Retro will always be associated with the Metroid Prime franchise. And who knows, maybe we’ll do another one some day.” – Michael Kelbaugh, President & CEO of Retro Studios
Personally, I would love to see Retro work on one more Metroid game. For now I’m happy that they’re developing something different, but I know that I’ll always remember Retro for successfully handling Samus’ transition from 2D to 3D.

Anyone else notice the Zelda shield/sword on the wall? Well, I guess there’s no way you didn’t. It’s the only piece of non-Metroid featured in the video though.
I’m guessing it’s probably true that Retro worked on the title for a while like Casamassina said. Hopefully they influenced/inspired the Zelda team working on it now a bit.
In the meanwhile, we have absolutely no clue what they’re working on now

Maybe we’ll hear about them at the next E3? I remember Reggie said that they are working, although that’s pretty obvious.
