Capcom not commenting on Okamiden

August 22nd, 2009 Posted in News, Wii, Written by Valay

Yesterday, Siliconera found a trademark for Okamiden, something which seems like some sort of sequel to Okami. However, all that can really be done with the name is pretty much guesswork. Capcom isn’t being too helpful either, as you can see by the statement below.

“Nothing I can say here. Sorry.” – Christian Svensson, Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development

On the bright side, there is something you can take away from Mr. Svensson’s words. If Okamiden was nothing more than a random trademark, I don’t understand why he would be shying away from commenting on it. Also, you may remember that Capcom teased a mind-blowing sequel a few weeks back. Could Okamiden be that game? Like I said earlier, all we can do is speculate at this point, but hopefully Okamiden will turn out to be something that will please fans if it turns out to be a new title.

I hate getting hyped up for a game that might not even exist, but it does sound more and more likely.
