Miyamoto the only one requesting MotionPlus in Zelda Wii
June 24th, 2009 Posted in News, Wii, Written by ValayShigeru Miyamoto has stressed in numerous interviews that he wishes to include Wii MotionPlus in Link’s first true outing on Nintendo’s console. In fact, he has gone as far as to say that there’s a good chance the game will require the peripheral. But believe it or not, Miyamoto has also said that he is the only one asking for MotionPlus support in the game.
“One thing that I will tell you that I have made a request of the team is I really want to work with Wii MotionPlus. That being said, right now I’m the only one who is asking for that. Wii MotionPlus is something that would really lend itself well to new Link.”
I really must say that I am surprised by this. You would think that a good majority of the development team would be interested in at least experimenting with it…Who wouldn’t want more accurate sword controls?

Are more accurate sword controls a good thing? I don’t know about you, but I have not been trained in swordplay. Wouldn’t making realistic sword controls make games much much harder?

I suspect the devs at the big N also have not been trained in swordplay. Maybe in a game like Wii Fencing (I made that up but I’m sure it’s on the way), there would be emphasis placed on technique, which is actually a pretty interesting concept, but for something like Zelda, I’m sure waving the Wiimote around like a maniac will suffice.

if they had that this should be the first zelda that you could adjust the difficulty because if you suck at sword fights you should be able to atleast barley beat the boss
so if they allowed you to adjust the difficulty that would be fine

OK well I’m with Mr Miyamoto on this and would like to ask Nintendo & the Zelda Development Team to include Wii Motion + in the new Zelda Wii title. Hey looks like he isn’t the only one that is asking for it now. Personally I think it would be a great addition to the game.
