Rockstar believes DSi could be beneficial for Chinatown Wars sales

February 20th, 2009 Posted in DS, News, Written by Valay

According to Rockstar Games UK’s general manager Neil Stephen, the DSi could end up benefiting Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the DS.

“The launch of a new piece of hardware into the DS family will garner a new level of buzz and get some more hype going for the system. I think anyone releasing high profile titles on the DS will definitely benefit from that. We also think there is the potential to attract lots of new owners into the market, particularly from our fans who may have played our GTA titles on the PSP.”

Chinatown Wars will be releasing on March 17 and the DSi will launch on April 5 in North America. Since those dates are rather close, I’m sure that at least a few gamers would want to pick up the software alongside the DSi.

Hopefully this means we’ll see some DLC for DSi owners when playing GTA: Chinatown Wars.
